Escape from the RatRace

Dear friends,
Coincidence or not, last week I received two emails from different persons, with almost the same contents. A CEO of a company in Sao Paulo who told me he actualy hated the job, the city, the traffic and his dream was to kick the proverbial bucket and do what we have done.. go out sailing. Another, wanting to learn how to sail a Catamaran, and planning “soon” his way out.. a hughe lifestyle change…”just like you guys have done…”

Why not?

Pieter with Pepper (the cute dog) and Lumina, his mami (laughing), was attacked by dutch TV:

Reporter: "why do you live on board a sailboat?"
Pieter: "uh.. why not?"

Hilarious.

Pet fish

While I can't have a big dog to give a hug every morning onboard, we have another pet, a domesticated fish. He is always around the boat at this bay, Enseada da Fazenda, Angra dos Reis-RJ. He is alone and likes to eat Pieter's toes and cream crackers. Well, we dubbed him Pieter.

Sailing, flying!

When people ask me why? I say why not? Explore your dreams. Just go beyond your limitations and don't give up in times of failure.
Gull in Armação dos Buzios - '...forth and back to the fishing boats'

Gulls in Cabo Frio - 'For most gulls, it is not flying that matters, but eating.'

“Instead of our drab slogging forth and back to the fishing boats, there's reason to live! We can lift ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can learn to be free! we can learn to fly!”

“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly.”

Thinking outside the pool....

Inspired by a Rush song called Natural Science, and also seeing this up and close very often near rocky shores..... The water of the ocean, when retrieving leaving behind small pools, with lots of marine life..Creates insights to ones personal life....

Many people (us included) lived our lives that way.... inside a pool, busy as hell and doing whatever everybody else was doing, the same rut the same rythm... and yes, totaly forgetting that there is a larger life outside your little pool...
There are people that are quiet happy with this state of apparent comfort and security and they really dont want to know and neither remember of the what is going on outside the pool, and that is fine, but there are also people who are not quiet happy with this, the ones that would like to swap the state of the ilusion of comfort and change it for the (sometimes) descomfort) of another reality... For those people, the ones that want to know what is on the other side of the wall, the ones that are aware of the ocean outside the pool, here is a little piece of advice: Dream it, no limitations, do it, live it.... Think outside the pool....
